FAQ

Questions, answered properly

These are the things families actually ask us before they enrol — including the awkward ones. If yours is not here, message us and we will answer it directly.

Getting started

You do not have to guess. Book the free trial class and the teacher will assess where your child actually is — not where their age says they should be. Most children who cannot yet read Arabic letters start with Noorani Qaida. If they can read but stumble, Quran Reading is usually right. We will tell you honestly, even when that means a shorter course than you expected.

Yes — a full week of free trial classes, no card details, no obligation. Your teacher meets the student, assesses their current level, and agrees a starting point with you. If you decide not to continue, that is genuinely the end of it. Nobody will chase you.

A laptop, tablet or phone with a working camera and microphone, and a reasonable internet connection. Nothing else. We share the lesson link by WhatsApp or email before class, and we send the Qaida or Quran PDF if you do not have a physical copy yet.

We take students from about four years old for Noorani Qaida, provided they can sit for a short class. There is no upper limit — a meaningful share of our students are adults starting from zero, and several are over sixty.

Classes and teachers

Yes. One student, one teacher — that is the whole point. A teacher who remembers that your child confuses ṣād and sīn is worth more than any curriculum. If a teacher is ever unavailable, we will tell you in advance and offer a swap or a reschedule; we do not silently substitute.

Yes, and you do not need to explain why. Say so when you enrol and your daughter, or you, will be taught by a qualified female teacher. This is a standing option, not a favour we grant when someone happens to be free.

Every teacher is assessed on their own recitation before they take a single class, and our Hifz teachers are themselves Hafiz or Hafiza. Teaching the Quran badly is worse than not teaching it, so we would rather turn an applicant away than put them in front of your child.

They do. We teach across North America, the UK, Europe, Australia and the Gulf, and we schedule around your timezone rather than ours. Early mornings before school and evenings after work are our two busiest windows.

Always, and we would rather you did. There is no part of a class we would not want a parent to see. You can watch any lesson, any time, without arranging it in advance.

Fees and scheduling

Fees start at $40 a month for three classes a week, and $50 a month for four — one-to-one, 30 minutes each. Hifz is $100 a month for five classes a week. We bill in USD, CAD, AUD, EUR and AED. Every price is on the pricing page; there is nothing to uncover at checkout.

No. No registration fee, no material fee, no exam fee. The monthly fee is the whole cost.

Cancel whenever you like — there is no contract and no notice period. If you need to pause for exams, travel or Ramadan, tell us and we will hold your slot rather than make you re-enrol. Families move house and lives get busy; that is normal.

Let us know beforehand and we will reschedule it at no cost. Missed classes without notice cannot always be recovered, simply because your teacher held that half hour for you — but talk to us. We are reasonable about it.

Yes. Families enrolling two or more children get a sibling discount. Message us on WhatsApp with how many children and which courses, and we will quote you directly.

Safety and trust

This is the right question to ask, of us and of anyone else. Parents may watch any class at any time without notice. Classes happen at agreed times on a link we provide. Teachers do not contact students privately outside of class. If anything ever feels wrong, contact us directly and we will act on it the same day.

We collect what we need to run your classes — name, contact details, timezone and course — and nothing more. We do not sell your data or pass it to advertisers. The privacy policy sets this out in full.

FQE Academy comes from the team behind Free Quran Education, whose free resources have already reached millions of learners. The academy exists to add the one thing a video or an app cannot give you: a real teacher who knows your name and hears you recite.

Still have a question?

A real person reads every message — usually within a few hours, and always within one working day. Ask us anything, including the things you would rather not ask on a form.

Your first week is free. Your teacher is waiting.

I really like this academy. I like how they let me change the time the days I’m busy; whenever I’m not comfortable with something they always let me make changes. I’m grateful on just how far I’ve come in my Quran, and all thanks to this academy.
